Speakers highlighted major barriers to African unity, including the lack of a shared African language and the use of different Western-based school curricula across the continent. Participants also rejected the idea that Africa is poor, noting how much wealth leaves through its borders daily.
Questions on funding and investment were raised, and you explained that I Love Black People is a Pan-African startup currently funded by its co-founders. Several speakers warned that foreign investment often leads to exploitation and encouraged African-led, community-owned enterprises instead.
A participant suggested having representatives from every African country, which you agreed is important.
Nana Akua then focused on holistic health and urged Africans—especially men—to take symptoms seriously and use natural healing practices.
Dr. Tyrene Wright closed by highlighting the overlooked Pan-African leader Robert Sobukwe of South Africa and his historic fight against apartheid.
