Media as a Tool for Pan African Unity

Stories, reflections, and ideas shaping progress, building power, and unlocking new possibilities.

Country speakers discussed how media can both promote and hinder Pan-African unity. Media connects Africans across distances, spreads Pan-African ideas, educates people, and helps reshape Africa’s image. But it can also spread negativity, block Pan-African movements, or fuel online conflicts. The group emphasized the need for Africans to own their own media platforms and highlighted how the I Love Black People app can serve as a Pan-African tool for unity. The session ended with a call for expanding into radio and other platforms to reach more people and strengthen the movement.
